Can condo manager prohibit owner from using different TV service?

Question:

condo-cable-disagreement.jpgWe live in a condo in Florida which has a contract with MDU communications for TV service. MDU uses Direct TV. MDU also provides internet services which is very slow compared to alternatives.

My condo fees include charges for this MDU service, whether I use it or not. I want to go with ATT U-verse, who says I can get TV, internet and phone from them at my address.

However, the condo manager says we can not do that. I thought this whole idea of exclusive service providers was overturned by the FCC some years ago. What am I missing?
