Condo president won't let me attend board meetings by phone

Question:

As a board member of a 130 unit condo association in South Florida, my board president and property manager have told me that they do not have a way for me to attend a meeting by phone when I am not there in person. I have been able to obtain a special speaker phone that is used just for this reason. They are still saying they do not want to use this and will not allow me to attend the meeting by telephone.

When I was voted in by a large number of unit owners it was known that the president and some of the others on the seven member board did not want me there as I think in terms of the entire condo and most of the board, (mostly the president) want what they want and nothing else. Our docs state that if a board member misses three meetings they will be put off the board and I am sure this is their aim as we had only 1 meeting the entire time (6 months) that I was there and are now looking into monthly meeting over the summer when I will be gone for 4-5 months.

Does anyone know of a way to get around this. The meeting is next week and I have no way of getting there in person but, wish to attend in the best interest of the entire condo. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
