Handicapped spot requirements for New Jersey condos

Question:

handicap-signs-parking.previewAre Townhome/Condo communities in New Jersey required to have handicap parking spots in their communities regardless of whether or not there are any handicapped residents?

I live in a community where we had a handicapped parking spot for my ex-husband, who had a handicapped placard issued by NJ.

We are divorced and he no longer resides here. My association removed the handicapped spot, however over the years when my ex-husband wasn't parked there the spot was available and used by handicapped vistors of residents. (ie my father when he comes to visit is allowed to use it because he has a handicapped placard.

Is my association required to still have handicapped spots in our parking areas? Was it allowed by law for them to remove it? Thank you!
