Has anyone ran their condo association without a board of directors?

condo association boardI live in a an 8 unit condo complex, all stand alone houses/unit. Each co-owner owns the house itself, but the surrounding area is designated as either limited common element or common element. My question: has anyone had experience running a condo association without at board of directors. Our co-owners are apathetic and no one wants to be involved. I know it sounds absurd, but that's the reality. Right now, we have 2 or 3 who, act as the Condo Board, but the truth is that I, as president, pretty much run things and I'm getting tired. Any information / suggestions will be appreciated. VWN3CH8K4X7C

Most states have a law titled STATE Condominium Act, Out the name of your state XXXX_____Condomnium Act

If you find it you'll see that the law in your state requires you to have a board of directors and also requires that your association hire a licensed management company-they mainly run your financials, provide other requested services.
