I have a tenant who lives in my condo and when he moved out, he left the trash out on the street 6 days early. The condo association noticed this the same day he put the trash out. However, they waited 31 days (1 day over a month) to issue a fine. By the time it got to me, the tenants security deposit was returned to him. It seems I will have to pay this out of pocket. My question is - what is a reasonable time (legally) for a condo association to wait before fining an owner? Can they wait as long as they want, or is their a limit to how long they can wait?
