Condo Rules That Just Don't Make Sense

Question:

Does your condo or homeowner association have rules or fines that don't make sense?

COMMENTS

I know for a fact that the interim president for my condo association is ir was grossly behind in his condo dues. Also, his daughter is behind in her condo dues even more. Mustn't you be current in your dues to be president? And if your daughter is behind, and nothing is being done, isn't that a conflict of interest? Am I nitpicking? Please respond. Jon
It certainly doesn't sound fiduciarily responsible for the president not to be paying his condo fees. It would need to be in the condo docs if it is indeed forbidden for an association board members to be so far behind in paying condo fees.

The question is - what is the condo association's rules toward late condo fees and is it being enforced? If there are fees that are not being levied, than you and the other members of the association have something very interesting to talk about.
When a condo owner rents out his condo unit to an individual, and they are the only one on the lease...what can be done about him moving a wife and 3 children into the unit, causing serious issues with noise. The tennant refuses to leave, is behind in his rent, children screaming and yelling all the time (young children)...keeping in mind the unit is a 1 bedroom, (700 square ft, which according to the board of health is not allowed) The owner says he is trying to evict him: but that has been going on for 5 months, with no progress. They are still there, with no end in sight, the landlord has not even gotten a court date yet. What kind of rights do the other owners (who actually live in their units) have? The condo assoc fines the landlord for the offenses - $10.00 a day. This has not been acceptable to the other landlord for this continual problem, witowners, but the condo association says that is all they can do. Do owners, or other tenants nfor that matter, have any recourse against the condo association, or the h no one offering an acceptable solution? Must we all accept this hell brought upon us, and learn to live with it?
