Originally when I purchased my condo in the state of Florida I was able to both live in it full time and rent out on both long term and short term (vacation rental) basis. The HOA had an agreement with Wyndham Vacation rentals to provide reservations, due to many owners not liking the terms we have either rented the properties long term 175 nights or more or for shorter stays, this has obviously had an effect on the business model of Wyndham and they convinced the HOA to change the bylaws for any new condo owner prohibiting them from either being able live the property themselves for more than 175 nights a year or rent the property long term for the same amount of time. I find it strange regardless of bylaws that an HOA has the ability to enforce a law that would stop someone from living in the own property for however long they wont, is this legal?
