Can a property manager in California terminate the association attorney without the knowledge of the entire board of directors? We are calling for a special meeting in order to remove 2 board members. We had our own private attorney serve the association attorney with the petition and he agreed to accept it on the board's behalf. After 2 weeks, we received an email message from this attorney that he had been terminated by management. Since the property management and these 2 board members are tight, we feel that this is a ploy to delay the meeting. I don't think that this is legal, however, we don't know what we can do about it.
