Can Sarasota condo association change condo fee structure?
Question:
When our condos were built in the 80s, the developer incorporated every time he completed a building or two. There are 8 incorporated condos here under one association. When I moved in in 1991, all owners paid the same maintenance fee regardless of size of unit or type of building. One of the owners challenged this and as a result we have had 8 budgets with 8 reserves and 8 different maintenance fees ever since. We share common area expenses. Our current board is looking to change back to the old system of one fee for all regardless of unit size or building type. Is this legal? Sarasota, FL
