Condo owner changed front door without authorization

Question:

It has just come to the boards attention that a unit owner replaced their front door with an all etched glass door that does not match the rest of the condos 9 glass pane, metal doors. Our Bylaws state that doors are "common element" and therefore the unit owner should have gotten board approval before making this change. We also just learned that they replaced their windows without board approval.
Since they most likely have gotten rid of the original door so can not put it back, should we send them a letter stating that any future repairs are their responsibility and that they must notify a future buyer of this as well if they should ever sell?
We are having difficulty with co-owners not making written requests prior to making changes and are not sure how to handle this!
