Question:
I just bought a townhome and am planing to change the carpet to laminate.
The HOA said I need to prove that the sound rating of my laminate must be better than the carpet. I don't think it is fair since:
1). I don't have a neighbor downstairs, I own all 3 stories.
2). When I bought the home, the builder did offer laminate as upgrade. I am just getting it done through someone else with MUCH better products.
3) I have no issue providing the information since I know the product I am installing is much better, but the builder refuses to provide the information (what is currently installed in the model home) and guess what - since it is a new community, the builder is also the HOA board of director.
I feel I am being harassed by the HOA, what should I do?
