Condo Q&A

Property manager hired contractor without insurance

I live in New Jersey. Does anyone know what kind of insurance a property management company should have when they do all the hiring of the contractors who work on our condos. The problem is a contractor hired by the property manager was without insurance and he ruined a few items in my condo. I am shocked that we pay a management company and they hire contractors to do work that can easily damage our property and they do not hire someone who has insurance to protect our property in case it is damaged by the contractor. How can I find out what insurance the management company has because they have not been willing to share that information with me. The insurance company for my condo sent an agent to my condo but that agent told me the damaged items were not covered nor were the items the contractor put in my condo since he damaged them while installing them. Is it legal for a property manager to hire someone without insurance and take a big chance with my personal belongings in case they get ruined by the contractor? Should the management company be putting in a claim to their insurance company? Please if anyone knows the Condo Laws in New Jersey, I would sincerely appreciate your help.
