Should FDIC Insurance Be Required?

Do any of your Associations stipulate that funds must be held in FDIC-insured accounts? I served as treasurer for 14 years and always kept the funds in FDIC-insured accounts. It seems prudent and consistent with the fiduciary standard of care. However, the newly elected treasurer is pushing to move all funds to Fidelity.
