Condo Q&A

Should condo association use pesticides for pest exterminations?

Written by CondoAssociation.com | Sun, Aug 25, 2019 @ 02:34 PM

I live in a 55 unit condo community in Massachusetts. One resident saw a cockroach in his unit and is demanding that the whole building be treated with pesticides. I have pointed out that Disneyland doesn't use pesticides but uses natural products, that we could use borax and sugar ourselves, that we don't need to spend $5000 when people regularly move in and out of our building. I have tried to find out exactly what the pesticide allegedly being used will be - to no avail. Am I obligated to participate in this program? I am concerned because we have children in our building, not in my unit, Pesticides are dangerous and can affect people who have asthma. I can't even find out what they plan to use. Have I any rights?
