Special assessments or increased condo fees?


Question:

We have had a Special Assessment in our community for six years to build reserves/savings. I suggested that instead of continuing with a special assessment they increase the monthly dues in the amount that would satisfy the special assessment. Which is the preferred method to build reserves/savings, special assessment or increase monthly condo fees?
