Does condo association bookkeeper need her own insurance?


Question:

Our condo association is looking into hiring a bookkeeper to do our financial work. The woman we are looking into does it for another condo association that I am friendly with and comes highly regarded. She has degrees in business management and accounting and works full time as a business manager at a prominent private school. I checked with our insurance company and was told that if we hire someone to do the job they would be covered under our policy that we have, however if we went with an outside third party they would need their own insurance. This woman doesn't work for any particular company and does it part time for herself. I'm thinking that by hiring her as our employee we would be covered. Just wondering if anyone can offer any input. Thanks in advance.
