Our HOA has 19 units, most being owned by seniors. Our monthly dues have always been less than $100, and because of the hard winter, we cannot afford to address any maintenance issues at the moment. That being said, we do have plans to significantly raise our dues in the near future.
My question is this. One of our homeowners and a board member has offered to cut down two small dead trees at no charge, as well as perform some other minor work. Does this pose any liability on the Board if they allow this? We’ve also used a handyman in the past, and some are saying that this also poses liability issues. We have received mixed opinions. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks!
