I live in a two-story condo building. We have
condo owners that smoke (and that's ok), but the smoke seeps into the common areas from
around their unit entry doors.
Secondhand smoke builds up all day long and into the evening as this is the
primary time when smokers smoke. Cooking smells also get very strong. The condo association board has not responded to my concerns or suggestions to rid of the smoke.
My State Department of Health has no jurisdiction in this matter because a
condominium association complex is considered a private residential entity. All 16 of us who
live in the building are exposed to secondhand smoke in the corridors (including
the smokers!)
What can our condo association do about this?
