Condo Q&A

Conflict over condo association's square footage listed in bylaws

Our condos POA fees are based on the square footage of each unit. Our budget had remained the same for the past five years but went up this year so the sq footage calculations had to be redone. The management company went to the county for the sq footage per unit. Also the sq footage for each unit is included in our bylaws. When I compared the two there is a difference in about half of the condos. I pointed this out to our board president and she said she would check into this but would have to be brought up at the next board meeting. WHOA I suggested we get a professional to measure each unit. Our bylaws say its heated sq footage and units have enclosed their patio. A few of the larger units are listed as a smaller one. How do I let the board know this should not be ignored? And do we then let the county know of the mistake?
