Tree on HOA property causes water line damage

Question:

I own a condominium in Phoenix, Arizona. The root system of a tree located in the common area caused the private water line to my unit to break. The tree is owned and maintained by the HOA. The HOA claims that regardless of the cause of the damage to the waterline, it is my responsibility to repair the damage
