Condo Q&A

What are the rules of your condo building's lobby?

We're revising our Rules and Regulations and a proposed section reads, "Lobby Usage: Residents may use the lobbies to wait for transportation and for short conversations with friends and neighbors. Lengthy business discussions are not to be conducted in lobbies. No eating, drinking, sleeping, lingering or exercising is permitted in the lobbies. Playing and babysitting are not permitted." I think this is too restrictive. I sometimes see people sitting and socializing, sometimes with a baby in a carriage or small children. I have never seen any harm in that, except occasionally children put dirty feet on the couches. I hate to see well-behaved people deprived of the use of the lobbies. I think we could say, no feet on the couches, without limiting socializing in general. What do you think? A quotation of your rules on lobby behavior would be helpful, something I could submit in place of our present rules.
