Financially stuck in my co-op

I live in a co op whereby they installed this a/c/heating unit underneath my apartment which is the lobby's ceiling and my floors above.  It's is noisy causing vibrations and heat under my floors but the claims their is no code for violations
The board refuses to move this unit because the security guards need comfort.  It was not here when I bought the apartment.  I can't go anywhere else because it's more money no cooperation from board  What a nightmare. If anyone had any suggestions please help as a lawyer is $400. Illinois.
