I am on the Budget committee of a large (500+ units) condo building. I am curious if other residents of large condo buildings with common areas, lobbies, etc. could please share with me the approximate percentage cost spent on janitorial expense. Our budget of about $6.5 million includes over 12% for just janitorial LABOR, and that figure does NOT include trash removal, supplies, window cleaning, etc. It does include payroll taxes, and benefits. We treat Engineering, and Maintenance separately, and are 2 separate expenses. I feel this is excessive, but lack any comps to evaluate. Any info is appreciated, and will help me focus. I do not really need dollars, but percentages.
