Can condo association pay a trustee in Massachusetts?

Our Condominium Declaration of Trust says the Trustees may "designate one or more of their own number to be the Managing Trustee(s) for the management and administration of the trust property and business of the trust or any part or parts thereof". Can the Board establish a salary or stipend under the State of Massachusetts laws? This is not specifically addressed in the Declaration of Trust or Master Deed.  South Hadley, Massachusetts
