Can owner's mailbox replacement violate condo rules?

Question:

I'm in a 102 unit condo complex in Florida. The secretary on the board came down and told me I was in violation for installing a new mailbox. Does she have any right to tell me? The mail box was faded damaged , I simply replaced it with a new one of the exact same model and color. I paid for it myself.  Fort Meyers Florida.
