Condo rules for dogs with extension leashes

Question:

I live in a 55 and older senior condo community. Recently there has been a couple of problems with residents walking there dogs on extension leashes, therefore the condo officials have stated all residents with extension leashes cannot use them and need to replace with non-extension leashes. Can they tell me what type of leash I can use? Because of an incident that didn't involve me.?
