I live in a 200 unit high-rise condo in Pennsylvania. In Pennsylvania, there are no condo sunshine laws, laws about board meeting notices, attendance by non-council, committees, distribution of minutes or monthly financial data. Pennslyvania has no ombudsman.
A board can violate the condo docs. A condo board can do whatever they want and [besides election] the only recourse is to sue them. Essentially, a board can operate as a dictatorship. My question is more of a survey. What is the situation in other states? I plan to use the data to petition our state reps to make Pennsylvania more owner friendly. Does CAI have any published matrix or facts?
