How to deal with excessive violation fines?

Question:

Does anyone else have problems with over zealous ticketing and fines for infractions? And what is your solution? The Security guards go around and issue "tickets" for items left on the walkways [this week a cup of seashells & shoes at 5 units that I know of], or for not displaying entry passes - [when they are not at the gate to give them out] and a myriad of other things. These tickets get the short term guests riled up so they post reviews and send screaming emails about their "ruined vacations" and how the complex is like a prison. I've told the board this. They may be trying to make $ with the fines [which are really going to add up], or discourage vacation rentals. Note: the vacation rentals help pay the $600 maintenance fees and prevent foreclosures. They are also the most attractive units in the place and have doubled the resale value with their renovations. I have complained and post the reviews on the HOA website. Do I need an attorney?
