New HOA president's agenda should be...

Question:

What are some primary things a newly elected president needs to know right after a Board election. Im confident that I will be elected to the Board for a second term and that I may end up asking to be President. Im a snowbird so fully realize the challenges that brings. The biggest challenge will probably be getting info from the current President who has "reigned" for more than a decade and is not happy to think he is going to lose his control. What things do I need to focus on...........?
