Best way to fire your condo board?

Question:

Our condo association is in the process of removing our current board of directors (BOD).  If we don't hear back by end of day today as the when our meeting will be, the unit owners will call their own special meeting to hold the vote. What would our rights be if the current BOD will not surrender the books, keys, etc. to the new BOD? If they don't attend the special meeting where they will be voted off, do they have 24 hrs to surrender everything, or do they need to surrender immediately? Do we have the right to go to her unit and demand everything, or should we get the local police department involved? The current president is known to be quite unstable. Thanks for any advice..
