Can You Lose Your Condo If the HOA Goes Into Receivership?

Question:

This question was submitted by Gloria from Arizona

I purchased a unit 1 year ago. The new HOA is now saying the property is not up to code, and a large special assessment is needed. What happens if the city takes over and the property goes into receivership? Am I going to lose my home?
