Does HOA vendor need general liability and workers comp insurance?
The Board President wants to hire a landscape vendor that does not have general liability or workers comp insurance. The management company says the standard policy is not to hire anyone without insurance because of potential liability to HOA in case of injury or worker or damage to property. President asserts the vendor can submit a waiver of liability because vendor says insurance is too expensive and that the insurance is not a "real" requirement. What is type insurance do you require your vendors to have?
