Our problem is this; the neighbor underneath found some mold on the inside wall of her bathroom cabinet. The HOA called a contractor of their choice to assess the situation. They opened the wall and they allege that there was a leak coming from one of our pipes’ corners which supposedly wasn’t welded well. The building manager called me to inform me about the situation and that we had to pay the bill estimate from their contractor of choice, which to me sounded extremely expensive:$4,200. My question: is the law on our side to be able to request that I find my own contractor to fix this leak issue since apparently we are the ones responsible for the bill? Thank you
