There are four townhouses in our HOA. When the trust was set up in the late 80s, nobody had the foresight to set up a tax id number. We are now in the process of opening up a bank account, and in order to do that, we need a tax id number. Since the trust was formed over 30 years ago, I am unable to get an EIN issued online. However, the 800 number I was referenced to just led me to dead ends and no real people. Anybody dealt with this and know how I can obtain an EIN? We need a bank account since a master insurance claim check is written out to the association.
