I was told the square footage used to determine the regime fee for a condo is different than the square footage used by the county for tax purposes? Please explain why the difference? The figures we have been using are in our by laws and do not match the county's. An attorney has told us we must hire a structural engineer to figure this out. Sounds expensive to me and unnecessary. We are 24 units in 5 buildings. However some units have been modified to add additional living space. I'm on the board and we have called a special meeting to address this issue and would like information on how to proceed.
