Dirty games being played by condo association board member

Question:

condo association member considering lawsuit against board 051214 resized 600

I am a member of a condo association. Some of our members have been grouping together to arrange a recall. I made a phone call to a gentleman one evening informing him of some of the questionable Board activities, and that members within the association were planning to do a recall due to his illegal activity while on the Board.

I realized mid-conversation it was our Board Treasurer pretending to be someone else. I then changed the course of the conversation, stating I didn’t want to be on the Board and that this was simply information that I’d heard. The following week he played the recorded phone call to the Board, stating that I was trying to do a recall. He also brought up a charge on my husband that happened 15 years ago. He is trying to discourage the members from doing the recall, yet the laws clearly state that this is within our rights. These are the dirty games he plays and is exactly why we want him off the Board.

Do I have a legal case since he unlawfully recorded my conversation, and then played it back to the other board members at an association meeting? He never had my permission to record the conversation. Six members were present at the time. Should I call the State Attorney and press charges?
