Can Condo Associations Require Owners to Carry Liability Insurance?

Question:

This question was submitted by Eleanor of Michigan

In CT is it ok for a condo association to force unit owners to get 100,000 in liability insurance? Our Board was told by our insurance company that we have to make a rule for this, or they will drop our master policy when it comes to renewal. Is that a reasonable (or legal) request? Making sure there is no law stating we can't force unit owners to do this.
