Should co-op relocate elderly couple during disruptive unit repairs

Question:

The gas line in my coop building has a leak that can only be accessed through my kitchen. Our custom kitchen has to virtually get demolished on one side of the kitchen. Obviously building is paying for replacing any damage to my kitchen, but do I have any recourse to be relocated during the construction and repairs? We are elderly and do not want to be exposed to workers every day during Covid.  New York
